Serving as the Cincinnati Reds beat writer for the Dayton Daily News for 37 years, Hal McCoy covered three Cincinnati World Championships. After retiring from the beat after last year's season, Hal continues to contribute to Fox Sports, writes for his blog, and is still in print every Sunday with his weekly "Ask Hal" column. The Hall of Famer was kind enough to spend a few minutes with Whack Reds as he expressed his opinions of Brandon Phillips, the Reds' current postseason push, and the demise of the newspaper.
